Level 2A Course Nonviolent Communication
This course is designed for people with around 24 hours of basic training in NVC.
About this course
Level 2A is for people who have completed a Foundation Course and want to take their NVC practice further, beyond understanding the model and into using it more naturally in everyday life. Over eight sessions, we will deepen empathy and self-connection, explore how to express ourselves in ways that sound natural and authentic, and practise staying connected with ourselves and others when conversations become challenging.
There is plenty of space to bring your own real-life situations into the course. We will use these, alongside exercises, demonstrations and practice, to explore how NVC can support greater clarity, choice and connection in our relationships and daily lives.
Throughout the course, we will explore:
- Entering and deepening the empathic space
- Self-connection and self-empathy in challenging moments
- Making NVC sound natural and authentic
- Honest expression and connection requests
- Half-yeses, choice and personal freedom
- Moving from complaint towards what we want to create
- Making decisions based on needs with the Yes/No Dance
- Staying connected beyond opinions and disagreement
- Experiencing the beauty and energy of needs
- Giving and fully receiving appreciation
During this course, you will continue developing your ability to move between self-connection, empathic listening and honest expression, while finding your own increasingly natural way of living and speaking NVC.
Format
Groups are intimate with a maximum of 12 participants so there is ample opportunity to bring in your own situations during the sessions and to receive guidance and feedback from me. Sessions consists of exchanging empathy, sharing in the group, learning new material, observing and working with me on your cases and working in small groups.
Between sessions, you will receive reading materials and practice exercises, and are invited to work with fellow participants. The average time commitment outside the sessions is about one hour per session — for example, reading or practicing with a peer.

Who this course is for
Level 2A is suitable for participants who have already completed a basic course in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) with at least 24 instructional hours. You can take any Level 2 course after the foundation course.
Accreditation
I am a certified trainer and mediator with the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC). All hours completed with me count toward the practice hours required to begin the CNVC certification process. You will receive a certificate of participation for this course.
