    Deep Empathy

So often when we face challenges, we spend a lot of time thinking about what to do. During Deep Empathy, I support you to go beneath your thoughts into the deeper layers of the “life within you”: the underlying feelings and longings that shape your thoughts. From this more vulnerable space, self-connection can grow, along with new insights, greater understanding, and sometimes fresh solutions.

You may come to a session because you want more inner clarity. Or you may want support in expressing yourself in a way that others can hear, or in better understanding someone else. It might be with a loved one, a colleague, or in any situation where you would like to communicate differently. Whatever your focus, Deep Empathy offers a space to slow down, listen deeply, and discover new ways of moving forward.

    How I work

At the heart of Deep Empathy is presence — accompanying you with curiosity and care. Empathy means listening with full attention, seeking to understand what is most alive in you, so that what truly matters can be heard and acknowledged. From that foundation, I draw on a variety of tools depending on what will best support you in the moment.

Sometimes this means role-play or practicing concrete skills such as self-connection, self-expression, or empathic listening. Each session is tailored to you, always with the intention of deepening self-connection and opening space for new possibilities.

At other times, especially if you are familiar with Nonviolent Communication, we may work with one of the NVC Dance Floors, such as:

    Cordelia Addison

    Self-Empathy Dance

This dance supports a deep dive into what’s happening inside you. It helps you move from confusion or inner conflict toward greater clarity, care, and inner peace.

    Yes/No Dance

Helpful when you’re facing a big decision. Instead of weighing pros and cons or judging what’s “right” or “wrong,” this dance supports you to connect more deeply with your needs and choose from there.

    Educator–Chooser

Useful when you regret something you did. It helps you listen to the different “voices” inside, shift from self-criticism to learning, and move forward with more self-compassion.

Transforming the Pain of Unmet Needs

A powerful process if you’re carrying painful memories or disappointments. It allows you to touch into the pain and then reconnect with the underlying needs, experiencing their depth and vitality.

    Anger/Shame Dance

Supportive when strong emotions like anger, shame, guilt, or depression are present. It guides you to uncover what lies beneath and transform these feelings into clearer self-understanding and connection.

    Duo session

Duo sessions offer a structured, supportive space for two people to deepen understanding and improve how they communicate. They are a practical learning space for developing skills in listening, expressing, and responding in ways that support connection at home, at work, or in other shared contexts. These sessions are suitable for any two people in relationship — partners, parent and child, friends, family members, or colleagues.During a Duo session, I guide both of you in slowing down and listening more fully — to yourselves and to each other. Using principles from Nonviolent Communication, we work with what is present between you, especially where tension, misunderstanding, or stuck patterns arise. Each person is supported to speak from their own experience and to hear the other with greater clarity and care.Through facilitated dialogue, reflection, and structured turn-taking, you develop:greater awareness of your own feelings, needs, and reactionsclearer and more honest self-expressionstronger skills in listening, reflecting back, and checking understandingmore options for responding when things feel difficultPeople come to Duo sessions for many reasons, including:recurring misunderstandings or conflictsgrowing resentment, tension or distancewanting to improve communication and trustnavigating change, stress, or transition togetherpreparing for or repairing a difficult conversationThe focus is not on blame or taking sides, but on creating mutual understanding and learning new ways to relate.
